Located in Toshima City Tokyo and established in 1949.
The embroidered ceremonial flag has purple background with a gold emblem and horizontally written in gold kanji university name with gold fringe.
Gakushuin University, which opened in 1949, invented its own cherry blossom design that same year and used it as its school emblem. The cherry blossom design is said to have been taken from a poem by Norinaga Motoori, (As a Japanese, my heart is such that I know the beauty of mountain cherry blossoms shining in the morning sun, and I am moved by their beauty).
