Located in Matsuyama City Ehime Prefecture and established in 1949.
The flag is green field charged with a white emblem in the center and vertically written white kanji university name at lower hoist.
The emblem is designed with the kanji word "大學" (=university) in the center and the five predecessor schools of the university on the outside, which are compared to the five-leaf pine trees on Mount Ishizuchi in a form of untied five rings and Ehime University (EHIME), which is about to grow. Adopted on Apr 1st 1989.
Green is the color of the pine tree used in the university's emblem, as well as the vitality of the university and the rich nature of Ehime.
