White coat of arms on dark purplish blue field. Stylized Kanji character NII 新 in the center. The flag symbolizes a beautiful island having white sands floating in the ocean
and symbol of Niijima Island which are always making advance into new age. The coat of arms was adopted Jan 11 1978. Flag unlegislated.
