White coat of arms on dull purple field. Stylized Hiragana character KO in a disc represents flowing plenty water of Black
Current and Izu Islands which Kozujima island belongs to. The disc stands for ocean and the coat of arms symbolize people's friendship,
unity and development in the future and desire for eternal peace. The coat of arms were adopted Jan 11 1978. Flag unlegislated.
