The former Shogunate Navy Vice Admiral Takeaki Enomoto's Force. They used Hinomaru as naval ensign during battle of Hakodate.

They also used white flag with a black vertical band as Shogunate vessel ensign.

So with this new discovery of the document I have to correct my comment on
Tokugawa Dynasty flag Daimyo Flags. The report
of the ensign with horizontal black band is wrong.
