In 1585, he conquered all of Kyushu except Chikuzen Province and Bungo Province.In the Battle of Sekigahara he belonged to the western force and lost the battle. The war banner has black background with a ten of brush script in white topped with a white Maneki small streaming flag. Another war banner was a white and black diagonally colored flag with a black family emblem on the upper white part. The family emblem is a black cross in a circle.
