Born as the eldest son of Mouri Terumoto Mori at Hiroshima Castle in Aki Province. After the defeat of the western forces in the Battle of Sekigahara, the Mouri family was reduced to 290,000 goku in Nagato and Suo provinces. In 1604, he became the lord of Hagi Castle in Nagato Province. He participated in the Osaka battle on the Tokugawa side. The war banner has red background with a white band in the middle. The banner used the same two colors as his father Terumoto's banner.
