The Flag

Using Google's rough Japanese-English Beta translator of the village information we come up with the following meaning:

As for the acute angle which extends to the left development of the village, as for circle harmony of the village people is displayed. In addition when the village flag is drawn up, the color green of the foundation means peace, as for the color orange of village symbol shows and displays the affluence of the good crops.

Phil Nelson, 30 October 2004, with text corrections by Nozomi Kariyasu

colour of field: green for peace
colour of emblem: orange for bumper crop
stylized hiragana Gi ぎ
circle for villagers harmony
Nozomi Kariyasu, 25 February 2006

The Gi forms a circle with some strokes extending in an arrow shape from the centre towards the hoist. The arrow shape represents the development/growth of the village, the circle for the villagers' harmony. The green signifies peace and the orange an abundant crop.

The flag of Ginoza is already reported, but I do new images with new details.

The village emblem was adopted on Nov 27th 1976 by Notice No 25 but there is no flag law. The green flag has an orange village emblem in the center. The village emblem is a stylized hiragana ぎ Gi of Ginoza. The circle symbolizes the villagers reconciliation, the sharp edge in the left side does the village’s development. The green color stands for peace, the orange color for fruitfulness.
