The flag is shown at Wikipedia. Beppu is located in Oita Prefecture on the island of Kyushu and is the second largest city in the prefecture, ranking behind the capital, Oita City.

Correction of flag.

The city emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 1924 and the flag was adopted on Oct 1st 1990 by Notice No 138. The blue flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 別 Be of Beppu. The flag proportion is 2: 3.
