The flag of city of Minamishimabara is white with symbol. The city is founded
in 2006 mergering of towns of Arie, Fukae, Futsu, Kitaarima, Kuchinotsu,
Minamiarima and Nishiarie.

The city emblem was adopted on Mar 31st 2006 by Notice No 2 and the flag
was adopted on Nov 1st 2006 by Instruction No 78.
The white flag has a blue and a red two color city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized M of Minamishimabara.
The emblem depicts blue sea, beautiful mountains and the vigorous residents.
It represents a reconciliation and a solidarity of the new city
and a wish for a development to the future.
The flag proportion is 7: 10.
The height of the emblem is 3/5 height of the flag.
