The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Sep 13th 2012 by Notice No 59. The white flag has a blue, a green and an orange three color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana ミ Mi of Miyako in a form of wings.
The blue color stands for a sky, the green color for the ground and the orange color for the sun. The three curved lines represent three areas flying to the future.
The flag proportion is 2:3.
