The city emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 1958 by Notice No 23 and the flag was
adopted on Jun 27th 1988 by Notice No 70. The green flag has a white city emblem
in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana あ A and kanji 南 Nan in a
form of a cap of wave and a rising sun. It represents a surge , a development, a
concord and a solidarity of the city.

2006, part of the city of Anan.
