The city emblem was adopted on May 13th 1941 by Notice No 15 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a red city emblem in the center. The city emblem is
a stylized kanji 玉 Tama and hiragana の No. It represents a peaceful conformity
and a bright development of a steady and healthy city administration.
