The city emblem was adopted on Mar 31st 2005 but there is no flag law. The
green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized
hiragana ま Ma of Maniwa. It represents an abundant nature, water resources, a
warm heart of the people and a bright future with a feeling of vitality.
