The city emblem was adopted on Nov 1st 2004 by Notice No 141 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a red , an orange two color city emblem in the
center. The city emblem is a stylized U of Unnan. That is an image of a new
homeland of Japan in which vivid nature, the people, the city, the life and the
myth are still alive. As a whole, it represents the city which develops and
makes a leap forward to the future.
