The city emblem was adopted on Jan 22nd 1951 and the flag was adopted on Oct
1st 1979 by Notice No 110. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized kanji 宇 U of Uji. The flag proportion is 7:10.
