The city emblem was adopted on Aug 10th 1954 but there is no flag law. The
white flag has a red city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized
katakana ミヤツ Miyazu and M in a form of Amanohashidate, one of Japan’s three
scenic views. It represents an image of the city which has places of interest
and a seaport.
