he city emblem and the flag were adopted on Apr 26th 1955. The maroon flag has a white city emblem. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 城 Jo of Joyo in a form of the sun. The flag proportion is 104: 155. The height of the emblem is 52/104 of the height of the flag.
