The city emblem was adopted on Jul 25th 1954 but there is no flag law. The
purple flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized
kanji 八 Hachi in a hexagon. The hexagon = Rokkaku in Japanese is a name of a
guardian old days and pronoun of Omihachiman.
