The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Mar 25th 1965 by Ordinance No 5.
The white flag has a red city emblem in the center. The city emblem was a travel
insignia of the former owner of Nishio castle Ogyumatsudaira family. It
represents an orderly rows of streets and the citizen's solidarity. The flag
proportion is 2:3.
