The city emblem was adopted on Jul 20th 1955 and the flag was adopted on Apr
8th 1989. The blue flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem
is a horizontal bar in a circle which is a modified family crest of Tokugawa
Shogunate’s relatives Kamagata Matsudaira Family.
