The town emblem was adopted on Jun 18th 1969 by Notice No 12 but there is no
flag law. The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem
is a stylized kanji 函 Kan of Kannami. The circle stands for peace and the
vertical and the horizontal lines for teeth. It represents a happy town.
