The village emblem was adopted on Dec 18th 1985 but there is no flag law. The
blue flag has a yellow village emblmem in the center. The village emblem is a
katakana アワ Awa of Awashimaura in a form of an island. The upper wave symbolzes
a surge and a cooperation of the villagers, the lower mountain of the island
does an improvement and a development of the village. The center white space
stands for a local speciality red sea bream.
