The city emblem was adopted on Sep 17th 1964 by Notice No 36 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a red city emblem in the center. The city emblem is
a stylized kanji 八潮 Yashio. It represents a wish for a peaceful development by
the merger of the former three villages.
