The city emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 2006 but there is no flag law. The
white flag has a green and a blue two color city emblem in the center. The city
emblem is a stylized hiragana じ Jo of Joso. It represents an image of the city
harmonized with nature and an abundant nature, a fertile land, fresh streams, a
vigorous future and spiritually affluent life.

The flag of the former city of Mitsukaido was blue with mark. The city
changed name in 2006 to Joso.
