The city emblem was adopted on Mar 6th 2006 by Notice No 1
but there is no flag law.
The white flag has a blue and a green two color city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized K of Kuji in a form of the sea and the mountains.
It represents an uplifting feeling of the city which seeks for hopes,vigors
and happiness into the future.

The flag of the former village of Yamagata was green with mark. The village
is now, from 2006, part of the city of Kuji.
