The town emblem was adopted on Jun 1st 1956
but there is no flag law.
The green flag has a white town emblem in the center.
The town emblem is a stylized katakana イワテ Iwate in a form of a circle.
It represents the future of the town which is strongly making
a leap forward by a reconciliation and a solidarity of the towners.
