The city emblem was adopted on Mar 14th 2005 by Notice No 45 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green and a blue two color city emblem in the center. The green color stands for an abundant and fresh nature and the blue color for an abundant and clear water of Lake Towada.

Towadako Town / 十和田湖町

The flag of the former town of Towadako was blue with mark. The town is now, from 2005, part of the city of Towada.

The hiragana character for “ten” と to is stylized into the shape of a flying red bird to symbolize the town’s soaring growth and prosperity, as well as its peaceful atmosphere. The names of the prefecture and town are written in white kanji at the bottom.
