What looks like a parish
flag is shown outside a building on the St. John parish page (where a banner
of the arms is also shown) - a bigger picture of it is shown at
http://www.jeron.je/thatwasjersey/sjfiles/AF011big.jpg. It looks from
this like each parish uses a banner of arms for its flag - in most cases just
a symbol on a plain background.

Saint John (French language: Saint-Jean, Jèrriais: St Jean) is one of the twelve parishes of Jersey in the Channel Islands. The Maltese Cross is the emblem of the Knights of St John at Jerusalem (Knights Hospitallers). The stylised Maltese Cross is set on a green background to recognise the old name for the Parish church, St John of the Oaks, though the church was dedicated to John the Baptist.
The parish flag shows a silver Maltese Cross on a green background.
