"GONFALONE. Drappo partito di bianco e di rosso,
riccamente ornato di ricami d'argento, caricato dello stemma del
comune con l'iscrizione centrata in argento: «Comune di
Lajatico» (Decreto del Presidente della Repubblica in data 15
febbraio 1950).
Una rosa in campo argento costituisce lo stemma di Lajatico. Al
linguaggio dei fiori sembra opportuno ricorrere per interpretare
in modo appropriato il simbolo. È quindi a una generica immagine
di grazia e bellezza che pare riferirsi questo stemma."
