"GONFALONE. Drappo di colore bianco riccamente ornato
di ricami d’argento e caricato dello stemma sopra descritto
con la iscrizione centrata in argento: Comune di San Piero a
Sieve (Decreto del Presidente della Repubblica in data 27 luglio
1987).
La comunità di San Piero a Sieve ha preso il nome e lo stemma
dalla chiesa patrona, costruita alla confluenza del Carza con la
Sieve intorno al Mille. Le insegne pontificie alludenti all’apostolo
Pietro, già proprie dell'antica pieve, passarono a rappresentare
l'omonima lega e, successivamente, furono inserite nello stemma
comunale."
