"GONFALONE. Drappo troncato di nero e di bianco
riccamente ornato di ricami d'argento e caricato dello stemma
sopra descritto con la iscrizione centrata in argento recante la
denominazione del comune (Decreto del Presidente della Repubblica
in data 2 dicembre 1988).
Antico sigillo della comunità di Fucecchio la figura del leone,
metà bianco e metà nero, sostiene una frusta formata da tre
strisce nere. Il simbolo ha avuto varie interpretazioni. La più
probabile è quella che vede nel leone l'emblema della forza e
del coraggio, posti a servizio delle libertà conquistate in
epoca comunale, mentre i colori si riferiscono alle due fazioni
dei Bianchi e dei Neri unite nell'impegno della difesa del
territorio. "
