"GONFALONE - Drappo troncato di verde e di rosso
riccamente ornato di ricami d'oro e caricato dello stemma sopra
descritto con la iscrizione centrata in oro: Città di Borgo San
Lorenzo (Decreto del Presidente della Repubblica in data 20
giugno 1988).
Questo stemma contiene la figura di san Lorenzo, con la palma e
lo strumento del martirio, per chiara derivazione dal nome del
paese. A san Lorenzo era intitolata la chiesa, già nota prima
del Mille, intorno alla quale si formò successivamente il borgo
che ha dato origine alla comunità. Borgo San Lorenzo fu
dichiarata «città» con il medesimo decreto sopra citato.
