"Gonfalone - Drappo di tre pezzi dai colori rosso, giallo e
rosso, poste in palo, riccamente ornato di ricami d'argento e
caricato dello stemma comunale con l'iscrizione centrata in
argento: Comune di Anghiari (Regio decreto 25 gennaio 1937). Lo
stemma si riferisce alla dominazione fiorentina su questa terra.
Ne è testimone il giglio come pure i colori che sono quelli di
Firenze. Lo scudo fu così diviso per accentuarne l'originalità.
I simboli e i colori si ritrovano anche nel'antico gonfalone del
vicariato di Anghiari. "
