In the center, a palm tree recognizes the date palm industry which the region is known for. Its stem is shaped like a fountain pen, possibly referencing the numerous literary writings about Dhi Qar, especially relating to the Battle of Dhi Qar. To the sides of its point is its name in Arabic.
