Yet another quite small state in the Kathiawar peninsula, between the states of Navanagar, Morvi and Wankaner and an unlabelled territory. I found the city of Rajkot there.
Jorge Candeias, 29 May 1998
From Vessillologia dell'India:
Rajkot was the ancient capital and the main city of Saurashtra. The Rajput prince who ruled the State was named Thakur Sahib (Thakor Saheb). The arms (or better, the emblem) of the State ware made of a crescent pointing upwards (Chandra, the Moon), on which was written "Raje koma praja raja" (Gift from the Heaven to the Raja's people), and supporting a running antelope (Chandra's mount), topped with a "katar". The crescent was flanked by two tridents at an angle, and below it the name of the State was placed in a semi-circle pattern. A motto was added in a cartouche below.Contributed by Jarig Bakker, translated by Ivan Sache, 2 August 2002The State flag (and Princely standard) was an azure flag with a yellow St. Andrew's cross, charged with the arms in large size in white.
