Local Council Zemer is a unification (1988) of four Arab
villages (Ithan, Bir As-Sika, Marja and Yama) which are situated
on the western sloops of Samaria Mounts, east to Netanya. It is named after a
"wadi" (stream that run only at winters) that run south
of it. Pop. 4, 800, almost all Moslems.
