Description

Using the above image as a guide:

1. Using two people, the flag is removed from the pole or surface.
2. The white half of the flag is folded on top of the red. The hoist clips or ropes must meet.
3. The flag is folded again in half; this time the red is showing on top and on bottom.
4. The fly end is folded in three stages. The folds will be done upwards.
5. The flag is folded one more time where the last third is folded towards the hoist end.
6. With the hoist clips or ropes together, the flag is put on a ceremonial tray or bowl and kept for storage.

For the alternate method:

1. Using two people, the flag is presented in full before the white half is joined to the red half.
2. After the flag is untied from the rope and toggle, the flag is folded in half again where the white is in the middle and the red is showing on the outside.
3. The fly end is folded into thirds; the first fold is made to the fly ends color guards right.
4. The second step by this color guard member is to repeat the one-third fold but it would be made to his left. 5. The flag is folded one more time where the last third is folded towards the hoist end. The guard member would move to his right when making this fold.
6. The flag is folded in half again towards the hoist.
7. Another video shows that after step six, the flag is creased and all hoist elements are tucked away inside the flag for storage on a ceremonial tray.
