Tát is a town in Esztergom district of Komárom-Esztergom County.
The “year of birth” of Taath is dated to 1181. It was then that King Béla III of the árpád dynasty gave the village of “Taath” to the Knights of St. John the Almsman,
whose descendants are the Knights Hospitaller and the Knights of Malta. The place of worship at the site of the present-day church was already mentioned as a hospital in some histories.
Under King Sigismund, the estate of the knights was given to the priests, and then the Esztergom chapter became the owner.
From the 1500s, the village was in decline. Between 1710 and 1740, in several waves, the extinct population was increased by diligent and skilled
German settlers, Swabians and Austrians.
The settlement received town status on 15 July 2013.

The flag of the town is white with its coat of arms placed in the center of the flag.
The name of the town is written over the shield, while year number 1181, the “year of birth” is placed under the shield. Ratio is 1:2.
The flag was adopted by Municipal Decree No. 9/1993 (VI.8.) adopted on 08 June 1993:

The shield is divided into two fields by a wavy line (Danube) in the middle.
In the upper field, the emblem animal - a lamb - looks towards its back, at the cross on the pole, while raising its right leg it touches the lower pole of the cross - it holds it.
In the lower field, the eight-pointed cross, curved on all sides - which is now called the "Maltese cross".
The colors of the coat of arms: in the upper green field, the lamb is silver. The wavy line symbolizing the Danube is blue.
The cross is also silver on the red background of the lower field.
The coat of arms was adopted by the same Municipal Decree.
