Coat of arms and description below from the Győr-Moson-Sopron
County Atlas; HISZI-Map, 1998:
"The village was first mentioned in documents in 1274 as
"Praedlum Humuky". The village was mainly owned by
families Kanizsay, Nádasdy and Széchenyi. Large number of
Croats run away from Turkish troops were settled here from 1520.
Croat language is used only by old inhabitants, but the Croat
traditions are kept alive by folk dance enssmble and tambura
band. The village has a population of 495 persons."
The CoA of the village contains the elements of the Hungarian
Coat of arms and the Coat of arms of Croatia too.

The Croatian name for Fertőhomok is Umok. The official
village website at <www.fertohomok.hu>
shows the arms as well.
