Turopolje is a cultural-historical micro-region in Central Croatia. It is
located south of Zagreb, bordered by the right bank of the Sava River to the
northeast and the Vukomeričke Gorice hills to the southwest. Turopolje takes its
name from the tur, a type of wild ox.
