The municipality of Palamas (16,726 inhabitants in 2001; 38,320 ha) was formed in the 2011 local government reform as the merger of the former municipalities of Fyllo (Φύλλο, 4,043 inh.), Palamas (8,903 inh.) and Sellana (Σέλλανα, 5,751 inh.).

The seat of the municipality of Fyllo was in Itea (Ιτέα). Its flag (Kokkonis website) was blue with the municipal emblem in white.
