The municipality of Argostoli was created in 2019 by dividing the municipality of Cephalonia into three parts. Cephalonia itself had a flag, and that flag can be considered a former flag that was used in the period 2011-2019.

The current flag of Argostoli (photo, photo) is blue with the municipality's emblem. The former municipality of Argostoli used a white version of the flag.
