The flag is vertically divided blue-red (1:3) with a white shield charged with Queen Tamar's seal represented in red.
The coat of arms of Dedoplis Tskaro is "Quarterly, 1. Azure a two- towered fortress or port and windows gules flying a banner argent charged with Queen Tamar's seal gules, 2. Gules a spring argent gushing fourth from a mount or ensigned by a bowl of the same, 3. Gules a garb or, 4. Argent a bull's head sable. The shield surmounted by a three-towered mural crown argent fimbriated sable. Under the shield a scroll argent fimbriated sable charged with the name of the town in Georgian capital letters sable."BR> [State Council of Heraldry at the Parliament of Georgia]

The upper quarters make the arms canting and recall the legendary foundation of the town. Dedoplis Tskaro was part of the Georgian historical province of Kambechovani; in the 17th-18th centuries, the province had 70,000-80,000 inhabitants, 10,000-15,000 of them living in the fortified town of Khornabuji. The town was renamed Dedoplis Tskaro (The Queen's Spring) after a visit of Queen Tamar; after having enjoyed water coming from a spring located uphill - subsequently known as Tamar's Spring - , the Queen ordered to build a clay pipe network to bring water to the downtown without damaging the spring.
