The Cockle Island Boat Club now shows the burgee on the website:
http://www.cockleisland.com. It is a
blue pennant, near the hoist a red initial “I” traversing a yellow initial “C”
and (what I take to be) a cockle, white, in the fly. No serifs.
The
‘Burgees’ site, giving yellow initials only, has a number of dots making up a
yellow triangle: see p. 4 of ‘C’ (left menu) here:
http://www.burgees.com.
I have not found a description of this pennant, except that the ‘Merchandise’
page (left menu) states it is “Navy Blue”.
From the CIBC site we learn
that 1974 saw the foundation of the CIBC in the sanded harbour of Groomsport
near Bangor on the Belfast Lough (Northern Ireland, UK). Nowadays the harbour is
dredged and a growing number of enthusiasts enjoy boating – not, as is stressed,
yachting only.
