Gibraltar Airways / GB Airways is a former British airline.
Founded as
Gibraltar Airways in 1931 as an offshoot of the Bland Line; renamed GB Airways
on 3 January 1989; ceased operations on 30 March 2008 upon its acquisition by
easyJet.
The flag of Gibraltar Airways / GB Airways was based on that of
the Bland Line: white with a lozenge, red on
one side, red-and-white horizontal stripes on the other side. The version shown
here, with a total of 23 stripes on the fly, featured on Gibraltar Airways' DC-3
livery during the early 1960s. Later versions had the stripes 'flipped' to the
hoist side, and the number of the stripes gradually reduced.
