The flag of Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine (photo) is white with the municipal coat of arms, "Azure two whitebeam leaves or a chief ermine", and the name of the municipality above.
The arms, designed by priest Trochu and drawn by A. Baudry-Souriau, were adopted on 25 October 1971 by the Municipal Council.
Aigrefeuille, recorded as a parish in 1156, is named for the Latin word acrifolium, "holly". Finding the holly too "stinging", the designer of the coat of arms used whitebeam leaves instead. The chief ermine recalls that Aigrefeuille once belonged to the
Duchy of Brittany.
