The municipality of Vernou-sur-Brenne (2,710 inhabitants in 2016; 2,591 ha) is located 20 km east of Tours.
The village is bordered by river Loire on its southern edge and crossed from east to west by river Cisse that flows parallel to the Loire, and into which river Brenne flows.
Vernou-sur-Brenne is located near Vouvray and its famous vineyards.

The flag of Vernou-sur-Brenne (photo, photo, photo; design confirmed by the muncipal administration, 22 December 2020) is white with the municipal arms, "Per bend azure and or a bunch of grapes of two tendrils counterchanged a canton gules a cross patty argent", below it a ribbon with the name of the municipality.
