Bordeaux Métropole (773,542 inhabitants in 2015; 57,830 ha) was created in January 2015, replacing the former Communauté urbaine de Bordeaux. Bordeaux Métropole is composed of 28 municipalities in the mĂ©tropole: Bordeaux, Ambarès-et-Lagrave, Ambès, Artigues-près-Bordeaux, Bassens, Bègles, Blanquefort, Bouliac, Le Bouscat, Bruges, Carbon-Blanc, Cenon, Eysines, Floirac, Gradignan, Le Haillan, Lormont, Martignas-sur-Jalle, Mérignac, Parempuyre, Pessac, Saint-Aubin-de-Médoc, Saint-Louis-de-Montferrand, Saint-Médard-en-Jalles, Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Le Taillan-Médoc, Talence, and Villenave-d'Ornon.
The flag of Bordeaux Métropole (photo, Szczmbze 2015) is white with the authority's logo.
The "logoplan" of Bordeaux Métropole was designed by the Franco-Swiss
designer Ruedi Baur (b. 1956) and Kubik, a design agency from Bordeaux.
The "graphic system" represents a moving identity, where each of the 28
municipalities forming the metropolis is specifically identified.
On the "fireworks" logo of the metropolis, each municipality is
represented by a black dot and connected to Bordeaux, placed in the
center, by a line with a specific color.
Each municipality has its own version of the logo, where it is connected
to all the other municipalities by lines of its specific colors, giving
a different graph for each municipality.
