The Irken are a diminutive, unpleasant species bent on galactic domination,
though fortunately not very good at it. The flag appears on one of
the screencaps at Age of Irken.
The annoying magenta/purple colors are derived from the hull color scheme of Irken warships.

The presumptive Irken naval ensign is a pennant with the symbol rotated
90°. It can be seen flying from the conning tower of the planet Mars
(made mobile by being fitted with colossal engines) in the episode
Battle of the Planets.

The Irken Earth Invasion Expeditionary Forces, numbering
exactly 2, is under the command of the titular Zim. Given the
numerical disadvantage, some subterfuge is necessary.
